  • His Helping Hands

    Paul Dohm, Executive Director

His Helping Hands, a community service ministry of Central Christian Church in the Wichita area, conducted a cell phone box campaign with the help of iDonate. An important part of the ministry's ongoing mission to help at-risk families and individuals living in the Wichita area, the effort was viewed as a great success by His Helping Hands Executive Director, Paul Dohm.

"In our throw-away society, it is good stewardship to convert unwanted items into cash for a good cause rather than putting these items into the local landfills. The funds generated can be used to buy towels, wash cloths, pillows, tableware and various other household necessities that many under-resourced families are in need of."

The box campaign, which targeted members within the HHH organization, collected 74 unwanted cell phones. After erasing and refurbishing or recycling by iDonate, the phones generated nearly $350 in funds for the ministry.

"I like the convenience of converting items to cash by utilizing the expertise of the iDonate team," continued Mr. Dohm. "It saves time for us not to have to research each item and look for the best way to move the item."

Mr. Dohm was just as pleased with the process as he was with the results. "We followed the simple instructions, and everything happened as expected. Plus, it is good for HHH to have a way to accept some of the items for ministry benefit that we might not have been able to accept without the help of iDonate."

  • Family Life

    Gene Haub, Event Promotions Manager

Created on the principle that the family provides the foundation for society, FamilyLife offers tools that enable people to live in love instead of in anger. Many of FamilyLife’s employees participate in this mission by raising their own support, which allows FamilyLife to focus on empowering families. Recently, a ministry supporter offered to donate a car to benefit a specific employee. FamilyLife turned to iDonate.

“The people I worked with at iDonate wrote the book on customer service,” said Gene Haub, Event Promotions Manager for FamilyLife. “Friendly, fast response times and everyone acted like they truly enjoyed serving me and the donor who was contributing the vehicle. It couldn’t have been easier. What a blessing!”

Immediately after learning of the intended gift, iDonate contacted the donor to learn more about the vehicle, then provided an estimate of its expected cash value. Using local specialists, iDonate quickly handled the liquidation, receipting and settlement of proceeds from start to finish with no effort from FamilyLife or the donor.

“The additional funds from this donation were a huge blessing in helping our family as well as enabling us to help others during the current economy. Without this option, they would have directed the donation of their vehicle to another organization. iDonate was a God-send!”
