His Helping Hands, a community service ministry of Central Christian Church in the Wichita area, conducted a cell phone box campaign with the help of iDonate. An important part of the ministry's ongoing mission to help at-risk families and individuals living in the Wichita area, the effort was viewed as a great success by His Helping Hands Executive Director, Paul Dohm.
"In our throw-away society, it is good stewardship to convert unwanted items into cash for a good cause rather than putting these items into the local landfills. The funds generated can be used to buy towels, wash cloths, pillows, tableware and various other household necessities that many under-resourced families are in need of."
The box campaign, which targeted members within the HHH organization, collected 74 unwanted cell phones. After erasing and refurbishing or recycling by iDonate, the phones generated nearly $350 in funds for the ministry.
"I like the convenience of converting items to cash by utilizing the expertise of the iDonate team," continued Mr. Dohm. "It saves time for us not to have to research each item and look for the best way to move the item."
Mr. Dohm was just as pleased with the process as he was with the results. "We followed the simple instructions, and everything happened as expected. Plus, it is good for HHH to have a way to accept some of the items for ministry benefit that we might not have been able to accept without the help of iDonate."
