Configuring a PayPal Gateway

How to enable PayPal as a donation payment method.

To accept PayPal as a cash donation method, you must configure a PayPal gateway within your account. This process involves adding the gateway, generating API credentials in PayPal, and submitting the configuration for final activation.

Generating PayPal API Credentials

  1. In PayPal, select your Account Name from the top right bar, then click Account Settings.
  2. Scroll to API Access, then click Update.
  3. Under the NVP/SOAP API Integration section, select Manage API credentials.
    1. If prompted, complete PayPal's identity verification steps.
  4. Select Request API Signature, then click Agree and Submit.
  5. Select Show to display the API credential fields and copy the required values

Adding a Gateway

  1. In iDonate, navigate to Settings > Payment Gateways > Add Gateway.
  2. Select PayPal [signature].
  3. Enter the PayPal Login, Password, and Signature values copied from PayPal into the corresponding fields
