Text-to-Give Program Terms

Opt-in instructions, message frequency, and terms for iDonate's SMS giving program

iDonate operates a Text-to-Give SMS program that allows donors to make secure donations to participating nonprofit organizations by sending a text message to short code 52014. This page describes how the program works, what messages you can expect to receive, and how to get help or opt out.

Program Name

iDonate Text-to-Give.

What This Program Is

The iDonate Text-to-Give program lets donors give to participating nonprofits by texting a keyword to 52014 from their mobile phone. Once you initiate contact, iDonate sends you messages related to your donation transactions, including donation confirmations, receipts, recurring giving reminders, and giving alerts from the nonprofit you donated to.

Types of messages you may receive:

  • Donation confirmations and receipts
  • Recurring donation reminders
  • Program information and instructions (Terms, Privacy, HELP responses)
  • Updates from the nonprofit you chose to support

How to Opt In

To opt in and donate, text GIVE followed by the nonprofit's organization tag to 52014. For example, text GIVE @some-nonprofit to 52014 to donate to Some Nonprofit. You will receive a reply with a secure link to complete your donation.

You can also text START to 52014 to subscribe to program information, or text YES to re-subscribe after opting out.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your donation activity and the nonprofits you support. On average, subscribers receive approximately 4 messages per month. Some months may include more messages (e.g. during a nonprofit's active campaign period), and some months may include fewer or none.

Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply. iDonate does not charge you to send or receive messages, but your mobile carrier may charge you standard message and data rates according to your mobile plan. Please check with your mobile carrier if you have questions about your rate plan.

Carrier Liability

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. iDonate and its underlying SMS service provider make reasonable efforts to deliver all messages promptly, but neither iDonate nor participating mobile carriers guarantee delivery, and carriers are not liable for messages that are delayed or not delivered.

Getting Help and Opting Out

Text HELP at any time for assistance, contact us at helpdesk@idonate.com. To stop all messages, text STOP, CANCEL, or QUIT. To resume messages after opting out, text START or YES.

Terms and Privacy

The iDonate Privacy Policy explains how iDonate collects, uses, and shares information about program participants. Notably, text messaging opt-in data and consent information is not shared with any third parties, excluding the aggregators and providers that operate the Text Message services on iDonate's behalf.
